May Self-Care Challenge Month

In April I started a self-care challenge, where I found all these self-care ideas and put them into daily actions. I wanted to invite some of my girlfriends on it, just to have accountability partners and to do something fun. I received so many positive comments on it that it prompt me into creating a May Self-Care Challenge. “Look at me being all pinterest like.”
Disclaimer: I took most of these ideas from different self-care pins on pinterest. I just took the ones that I liked and knew I would really do and put it all together.
So my beautiful people enjoy and I hope this gives you some type of purpose and enjoyment while we are still practicing social distancing.
May 7 - Create a one year plan
May 8 - Practice Gratitude: Start a Gratitude log, journal, or jar (continue to write in it through out the month of May)
May 9 - Find & listen to a podcasts relevant to your goals
May 10 - Self Care Sunday
May 11 - Write a list of your “bad habits” and then start tackling one at a time
May 12 - Go one day without sugar
May 13 - Read for 20-30 minutes
May 14 - Complete a 15-30 in home workout
May 15 - Take an hour off social media
May 16 - Rest: Leave a whole day unplanned
May 17 - Self Care Sunday
May 18 - Journal for 15-30 minutes
May 19 - Read for 15-30 minutes
May 20 - Meditate for 15- 30 minutes
May 21 - Practice yoga for 15-30 minutes
May 22 - Rest: Leave a whole day unplanned
May 23- Unplug: Have a phone free night
May 24 - Self Care Sunday
May 25 - Make breakfast for yourself
May 26 - Buy yourself flowers
May 27 - Cook a healthy meal
May 28 - Review “bad habits” list did you tackle any bad habits?
May 29 - Last Day of School - Budget for June Month
May 30 - Write a letter to yourself in 5, 10, and 20 years (or choose one of the years)
May 31 - Self Care Sunday (You pick any self-care idea that works for you)

How to keep yourself accountable?
Im really bad at starting something and then not finishing it so I have put this daily challenge in my iCal and made alerts to remind me every morning at 9am what the self-care challenge is for the day. Why 9am? Since I am working from home 9am is my “Self care hour” within that hour I will work on the self-care challenge. I know the weekend may look different but I still have my alert going off at 9am.
March was stressful and an annoying month, but when I started this self-care challenge in April, April went by fast. Doing the self-care kept me busy and I learned a lot about myself! I honestly had a lot of HIGHS in April and I can't wait to see what May is going to bring us.
I promise if we really take the time out every day to practice self-care for ourselves, then May will be another good month during social distancing.
